THE PATH
SELF-KNOWLEDGE

There is no personal growth or spiritual development without self-knowledge..
There is no true success, happiness, healing or forgiveness
If we don't at first walk the path that leads
to the continuous discovery of oneself.
On that road, every shadow is understood and every light recognized…
Both are loved and it is in that love, that we find ourselves free.

While spiritual paths can seem far away or even unreal to people with a strong preference to rational thought. Self-knowledge, on the other hand, is attractive and sensible for almost everyone. They're not really that different. The spiritual dimension does not go through believing in ghosts or believing in protective divinities, but simply in discovering that we are linked to what surrounds us, whether they are people, our community, nature or the interplanetary world.

I often speak of these paths as the concrete dimension and the abstract dimension of our existence.. In the language of the Toltecs these two sides are called Tonal and nagual and they are not opposites or enemies, but sacred and complementary. Self-knowledge is an obligatory task and a central tool for our daily lives, our family and personal relationships, for our work and our projects. To contribute to our community.

In a broad sense, both therapy, like yoga, the meditation, non-disruptive activities in nature, psychoanalysis, a spiritual pilgrimage or an honest conversation with a loved one, in which important things that were hidden are confessed, are all experiences of self-knowledge. If we are observers of ourselves, all experience contributes to this path.

When people have problems, sometimes they go to a priest, or to a psychologist, to a psychiatrist or some kind of healer. They can advise you to pray, to confess, do therapy, take medication or perform some ritual. But all these procedures are of little consequence if the most important process is not also worked on. The work to discover who we are, to observe what do we do, the results do we get for what we do, why we are that way and what it is that we truly want, this is the most important work. Without this, everything else will have limited results.

Generally, everything I do in my work with people, either with groups or individually, is focused on the path of self-knowledge. Nature is undoubtedly the best mirror to know ourselves because it does not react to our self-importance or self-pity. Human beings are an infinite inner space that is projected, transformed, grown or diminished in our interaction with others. We have many sides and many selves. That is why it is not a short-term task but the challenge of a lifetime.. A very satisfying challenge because each advance, each discovery, brings us life.
